The Right Tone
Choosing jewellery to suit your skin tone.
Repeat after me... “If I like it, it suits me”! Yep, if you love a piece of jewelry and wear it with confidence, it’s going to suit you regardless of your skin tone!
That being said, if you’re just starting out a collection and need some guidance, hopefully this blog will be of assistance. One of the biggest factors that affect how pieces look on you is your skin tone.
Because certain skin tones look better with certain metals and gemstones, understanding your skin tone can help you find the the most complimentary pieces!
Determining your skin tone is easy once you know how…
Your skin tone is likely ‘WARM’ if:
The veins on your wrist look green.
When you spend time in the sun, your skin typically tans instead of burning.
You have brown, green or hazel eyes.
You have brown, red or black hair.
People with warm skin tones look good in yellow and rose gold as well as copper and brass jewelry. Warm skin tones can (and should) also try out red and pale yellow gemstones.
You have a ‘COOL’ skin tone if:
The veins on your wrist look blue.
Tanning is not your exactly your strong suit and you’re known to rock a sunburn.
You have blue or green eyes.
You have blonde, brown or black hair.
Those with cool skin tones look fabulous in lighter metals such as white gold, platinum and sterling silver. When it comes it gemstones think bright and icy blues, deep purples, light pinks and lavender.
You have a ‘NEUTRAL’ skin tone if:
Neither option sound quite right to you? Think you might be a bit of a mix? You’re not crazy! Chances are, you have a neutral skin tone. You really do have the best of both worlds and can play around with colours as much as you like! Plus, colours that are difficult for others to pull off (like grey and navy) look amazing on you!
